U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) issued a reminder that the revised Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification (Rev.02/02/09), goes into effect April 3 for all U.S. employers. The revision date is printed on the lower right-hand corner of the form. Contact the Employers' Association for the new forms.

Employers who fail to properly complete, retain, and/or make available for inspection Forms I-9 as required by law may face civil money penalties of not less than $100 and not more than $1,000 for each employee for whom the Form I-9 was not properly completed, retained, and/or made available. Let the Employers' Association conduct an audit to verify that the employment eligibility documentation kept on file for employees is accurate. Click here for for details.
